Lucy was 12 years old when she died. We got her when I was a Junior in highschool. My mom wanted an black boy scottie and we went to look at the puppies and couldn’t resist the little tan girl. I miss you Lucy and always will. My heart is broken.

Not a Bucket List

Not a Bucket List

This will look like a bucket list but it isn’t because that seems a little morbid and I don’t want to call it that. I also think it pretty much goes without saying that I want to do these things before I die because I can’t really do them when I’m dead right?? So I’m not going to call it a Bucket List. I think I’ll go with Salli’s List of Fun (SLOF). I feel like if I write them down somewhere they might actually happen. Here it is – the stuff I want to do. Also FYI only this isn’t a complete list and it is in no particular order.

Learn to surf
Learn to wakeboard
Go snow shoeing
Sing Karaoke
Go clam digging
Go to DisneyWorld (this one is a shocker huh? hard to believe I haven’t been there)
Win a jackpot on a slot machine
Be on a game show (preferably Wheel of Fortune or The Price is Right)
Go snowmobiling
Go jet skiing
Go parasailing
Run a half marathon
Bike the STP in 1 day
Live in a house on Lake Washington
Go fishing in Alaska

Things I Never Thought I’d Say

Things I Never Thought I’d Say

So I knew that kids said funny stuff but I have been surprised at some of the phrases that come out of my mouth. I tend to say these without thinking (ok I say a lot of stuff without thinking, I have no filter) and then realize after that it is super bizarre. Here are a few favorites:

Please don’t put waffles in the magazine rack

Please stop sucking on my toothbrush

Please stop licking my pants

We are not going to skate on the floor on cookie cooling racks

Mowing the Driveway

Mowing the Driveway

Our neighbors had a garage sale and we bought this toy lawnmower for Hunter and he loves the thing! He enjoys pushing it around the driveway and taking it where ever he goes.

Wah-wer

Wah-wer

The other week we drove up to go look at Snoqualmie Falls. I don’t really remember ever being there but it could have happened once upon a time. Maybe in 6th grader on the way to camp Waskowitz for the week? Speaking of 6th grade camp that was a horrible week. Not because the camp was horrible but because I had serious homesickness issues and square dancing issues. Why would you even make 6th graders square dance with a member of the opposite sex? During the square dance the pin from one of my badges got attached to the guy I was dancing with. Mortifying. I’m over it. Obviously.

Ok back on topic. The falls were beautiful! Hunter was in the backpack and the first thing he said when he saw the falls was “wah-wer!!” his word for water. It was a cute moment. I’m thankful for cute moments like that, they help me through the not so cute moments which are difficult and sometimes more frequent. We looked around a bit but were disappointed to find out that the trail down to the river is closed for renovation until 2013. Big bummer. So there wasn’t all that much to look at. Lots of “wah-wer” and mist and such but that was about it.

After the falls we went and “hiked” around Tiger Mountain. I use the term loosely because it was more of a walk through a muddy trail with a slight incline. It was really pretty and it was nice to get out for the morning!

Outside

Outside

Here are a few fun pictures of Hunter playing outside (owww si as he calls it). It is so fun that he is at an age now where he can walk around and do things in the driveway or yard. He really likes collecting sticks, playing with chalk and digging in the dirt. I am really looking forward to summer and spending more time owww si!

Bubbles Bubbles

Bubbles Bubbles

One of Hunters favorite things in life right now is bubbles! He loves loves loves bubbles! He knows the word, the sign language and where to find them in the house. In his Easter Basket this year he received a Sesame Street Babies book called Bubbles Bubbles. He goes and grabs it off the shelf saying “bubble bubble!”. Super duper cute. One place in our house that consistently has bubbles is the bath tub. We always make sure there are lots of bubbles in there – he also knows that is a place inside the house where he can blow bubbles. Here are a few fun pictures from bath time!

It’s Here!

It’s Here!

The bag of crap came today! Yipee! It is much better than the last one that I got. Here’s what was in it:

– a flying helicopter batman toy

– reusable strawberry tote for grocery shopping

– 3 pet zoom brushes

– a bluetooth headset

– 2 leak frogs (apparently help alert you for water leaks)

– a pink laptop cooler

Not too shabby!

Easter

Easter

I am finally getting around to posting some Easter pictures! The day before Easter we went to a church in our neighborhood to do an egg hunt. I had high aspirations for Hunter and we even did a few practice rounds at home before we left. We got to the church and listened to a short message then headed off to the hunt. Hunter was so distracted (unfortunately we didn’t practice with distractions at home) that he didn’t grab for any eggs. I tried to help him and point out eggs but he didn’t care. I put two in his basket just so he could have something.

After the egg hunt there were games to play with prizes. It was such a beautiful day and such fun to see all of the kids playing the games. Hunter still didn’t really understand the games but he tried his best. I am thinking that next year when he is 2.5 he will understand a little more what is going on.

Update

Update

My Bag of Crap shipped and should be here on May 26th! According to FedEx it weighs 5.8 pounds. I think that rules out a tv. I’m kind of wondering if anyone ever even gets big stuff like that. This time my crap weighs more than last time so hopefully that means it’s something better.
